Woman gets surprise air mail when drone carrying marijuana crashes into home



RICHLAND COUNTY, Ohio (WJW) – Someone in Ohio expecting a “gift” by air, and not from Santa, will now have to go the sheriff’s department to declare it.

Richland County Sheriff Captain Donald Zehner explained a drone carrying marijuana, cell phones, and tobacco crashed into a residence on Evergreen Avenue in Mansfield Monday evening.

A lady residing at the dwelling listened to a thing hit her dwelling, ran exterior and uncovered the drone. The drone had a bundle hooked up to it with a wire.

The woman instructed deputies the drone was nonetheless “beeping” when she uncovered it and she instantly identified as 911.


According to the sheriff’s report, all of the lights on the drone were being protected with duct tape.

“We imagine the drone is worth about $2,100,” Zehner mentioned. “If any individual is lacking it and desires to assert it they can come to the sheriff’s business office.”
