Mother suspected of hiding knives in son's teddy bear at airport

(WSYR) – A New York lady is suspected just after a pair of knives ended up identified sewn into a stuffed animal her 9-12 months-previous son was touring with, according to the Transportation Security Administration. 

TSA discovered the knives Monday for the duration of a protection screening at the Philadelphia Worldwide Airport. 

The weapons were being discovered in a Darth Vader teddy bear — described by the TSA as “a black bear in a space-age technological innovation match and cape” — just after the plush toy went through an X-ray machine. TSA stated its officers found the bear experienced been re-stitched on its again. Immediately after taking away the stitches, the knives ended up uncovered in its stuffing.

TSA did not reveal the id of the lady nor the reason for the concealed knives but did say the girl explained to them the bear was a comfort and ease toy for her son. She will probably facial area a federal penalty for striving to sneak the knives by way of protection.
