Feds say 4 people left OC on business jet that crashed in East County



EL CAJON, Calif. — Federal investigators say the compact business jet that crashed in close proximity to El Cajon Monday night was carrying four persons who experienced not long ago taken off from Orange County, but inquiries remain about the individuals on board the plane.

Officials with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Division said on the evening of the crash that firefighters “were being not capable to obtain any survivors” after the jet crashed in the Bostonia location east of El Cajon all over 7:15 p.m.

As the Federal Aviation Administration and Countrywide Transportation Security Board started their probe into the crash Tuesday morning, they deferred to local authorities for any company confirmation about the passengers’ identities and whether or not there was a prospect any individual survived the crash. In the meantime, federal investigators’ preliminary stories drop some new gentle on the crash.


Rick Breitenfeldt, an FAA spokesperson, confirmed the plane was a Learjet 35 small business jet that experienced departed John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana and was headed to Gillespie Subject Airport in San Diego County with four persons on the airplane.

“The FAA and NTSB will look into. The NTSB will be in demand of the investigation and will deliver all updates. Neither company identifies men and women involved in plane incidents,” Breitenfeldt said.

For their aspect, the NTSB had several aspects to share on the crash early Tuesday.

“The very first NTSB investigator is envisioned to arrive on scene this morning,” agency spokesperson Peter Knudson reported. “Two more investigators will get there afterwards now. Regional authorities will provide info connected to the incident victims.”

No one was damage on the floor but just one property was ruined and energy traces ended up knocked down in the place, the sheriff’s department stated, producing far more than 2,500 San Diego Fuel & Electrical clients to drop electrical power following the crash. That quantity had been reduced significantly by early Tuesday.
