RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Crews operating at a former Robert E. Lee monument in Virginia located what they feel is a time capsule from 1887, according to Brian Dickerson with Dickerson Design.

A Richmond Magazine report from 2017 tells the story of the time capsule and the products that are assumed to be inside of, such as an irreplaceable artifact associated to President Abraham Lincoln. The time capsule opened final 7 days was not the just one referenced in historical files.

Northam and cleared the way for the statue’s removing.
Gov. Northam announced on Dec. 17 that design crews removing the Robert E. Lee pedestal from Monument Avenue experienced found the historic time capsule. A former exertion to track down the vessel in September of this calendar year was not successful and soon after a entire day of looking, function crews abandoned their initiatives and proceeded to move forward with a prepare to bury a new time capsule.
The things in the new time capsule are the end result of a statewide energy to incorporate visuals and artifacts related to our time—an expired vial of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine, Kente cloth worn at the 400th commemoration of 1619, an Equivalent Rights Amendment sash, and a photo of a Black ballerina posed in front of the Robert E. Lee Monument.
